6 deaths in the UK but no cases at all in the Highlands of Scotland where I live.

Here in France the entire educational system, from kindergarten to universities, is shut down as of Monday and for a one month period at least. Due to the new limit of 100 ppl max for a gathering, all major events are cancelled or postponed. The situation of next door Italy is worrying, to say the least.

Minor in the scheme of things, I know but next week my mother and I were supposed to be flying to Toronto, spending some time in Toronto and Niagara Falls and then getting the train to New York. This is my *cough* 50th birthday treat and it's looking uncertain whether it will/should go ahead but because the flights are still going and all cities are still accessible, I doubt I will get any refund. I've also spent lots on a flight to Germany after I get back for a work related (not my work place, it's a professional association) meeting that's been cancelled.

Not looking for sympathy, people are suffering more but would you go ahead? USA/Canada. I mean.

Tough decision; statistically speaking, the biggest risk is for your mother (age range), less for you.

Hard to say as the course of this thing is changing rapidly. You have to bear in mind the possibility of being stuck there if you go, I suppose. Keep an eye on the state of emergency in the US and the measures they are putting in place.

We've been told at work to consider carefully if we really need to leave the country and not to put ourselves in a situation that would cause us to self-isolate on our return. This in prep for when we are asked to go back into school or for when school resumes normal function.

Before you judge me, make sure you're perfect.

Seems they're planning to extend the travel ban to the UK now. That sucks.
