WTF???!!! Just got back from school trip to hear that there's been a gun massacre in my hometown of Whitehaven! It just doesn't happen there! I'm in total disbelief! And, if the reports I'm hearing from back home (not on the news) are correct, I know at least 3 of the people who have been killed.

I heard it as I got home from work and wondered just how much more bad news the locals could take. Between floods, bus crashes and now shootings.... I immediately wondered about your family and friends Kaz. *hugs*

My family are safe and well. My sister and her husband are on holiday and my eldest son was at work at Sellafield when it happened. They had a lock-down and he couldn't go home for around three hours. My youngest son thankfully doesn't live in Whitehaven anymore. However, his gran lives in Seascale and his dad was born and lived there all his life. We know the people who were killed there.
It's weird seeing the pics and the word Whitehaven on the news and seeing all the media there. All the people who they have been talking to I either know personally or by face. It won't sink in. It was the funeral of the girl who was killed in the school bus crash today too.

It's not been officially confirmed yet but now there is a Facebook tribute page up for the guy who was killed in Whitehaven this morning. I can confirm that I knew him and he lived on my street. His stepson used to play in the garden with my youngest son when they were young kids.
Am in shock. |
