Thank you very very much s7. Photos are more that I hoped for, great (and lightning fast)!
Maybe the error of lenght from the regular 7'' (3:59 when 4:09 is measured on singles versions from both US 5'' promo) came from this radio version, (guitar intro being 10''). + The 'new sped-up 7'' edit' could be seen as a thinking like: "let's make the single the same lenght as it is printed". I take the death head from first label photo as a delicate warning to stay away far from where your collection is stored. @Mart, The discogs link to the 7'' promo you linked is not the same object. You linked the spanish 7'' promo wich is well known among fans and not rare. If it was the 'without heavy guitar intro' on this release I guess the fact would be known here for years. Please s7 correct me if I'm wrong, I remember the picture sleeve from moonbase being the same as the regular 7'' only with a rectangular sticker on it.

I guess they cut it down as 3:50 is the average song length standard they use(d) on the (german) radio

I've searched the internet and I can't find that 7" promo shapeseven. The Spanish one is there, but the German one isn't. You might have a true gem there

No picture sleeve for this release. This false memory was probably from http://www.betaville.de/documents/39_253.html wich is another double-A sided Romeos 7'' but with the regular serial number (and the lenght printed suggest with the regular single version). |

Radio promos do not come with a cover. They are held in a semi hard sleeve. 7seven has a very rare item that is not available. It probably was pressed with ten other promos, exactly the same that were sent to radio stations. The link that you shared is likely to be a fan made art for the promo. The information on that picture is for a CD. S7 has the vinyl promo

Betaville has also the 'real' 7'' promo:
http://www.betaville.de/documents/39_254.html But I think he wrongly labelled it 'French Release' althought we can see 'Gema/Biem'. France would have put 'Sacem'. He also lenghted '3:59 - 3:59' when '3:58' is (barely) visible. Quote:

http://www.betaville.de/ There is different sections on the left. I think it's the biggest AV collection online. I have a few objects not listed here but he has many many objects that I don't.

Thanks Halnelson. I have looked at the collection and it is huge. But S7s Promo is not there.

Found it. What we need now is the matrix number in the run out groove. There are a lot of rare Alphaville vinyls up up on E Bay. If I had the time and money, I would collect them. I'm gliding in the distance and watch the world go by An orbit full of questions, a perforated sky
