Qkumba Zoo
Does anyone else here like the South African band Qkumba Zoo? Other than AV - this is the first artist I have found that I actually like every song on their album! Wake up and Dream is an absolutely amazing and wonderful album to listen to! I don't have their second album, Butterfly People, but I have heard most of it and it is more expirimental, although the song Slap!Bang! is very much like the songs on the first album!
Qkumba Zoo is is very much like AV in the sense that they are in tune with racial, ethical, social, and environmental issues - they are probably my second favorite band other than AV! Their style is a little different in that they mix a little of the south afrikan culture in with electronic dance music, but like AV, I love the vocals! Anyone else agree? ***This life is expensive, but at least it comes with a free trip around the sun!*** |

I agree with you! QZoo (as they are known now) are great. I have a signed CD of their second CD. If you would like I can get you Butterfly People. I am going to a shop this week to pick up a copy of So Long Celeste (only R10 - $1.20). I am sure they will have QZoo. I don't know if you have heard, but Cherise/ Tziki passed away on Wednesday 21 March 2001. She left the band before Butterfly. You can have a look on http://www.qkumbazoo.co.za . Sad but she took her own life.

Major - I sent you a private message.... did you get it?
I agree... the passing of Tziki is very sad! ***This life is expensive, but at least it comes with a free trip around the sun!*** |

Hi
A new song by Owl is available for download The email I received from the Facebook group is as follows "Hi all, Levannah and myself have been beavering away in the studio after-hours and have recorded an old song of ours we really like. Being very excited about it we have put it up in its "beta" version, meaning if you give us some constructive criticism your input might make a difference to the final version. You can stream / download the song here: http://www.reverbnation.com/owl Please tell all your friends about it. Regards Owl" I like this! |

I just got a private message from Owl stating that they are working on a special new release due in 2011 that has the rare second album 'Butterfly Peeple' plus the previously only digital released limited edition EP 'N3xt' together as a cd release for USA and digital release for the rest of the world!
