Here is another one :
I heard SLAM at a club in Tel-Aviv.
Whats so unusual in that?
We were waiting (with the live band) for Marian Gold to enter the club at the same time... :)
Eventually he didnt (long story...).

I once heard "Summer Rain" in the car, coming back from South of France, it was summer and there was rain, and it was played in the radio near Frankfurt, I was feeling like home, not because of the country - because of the music in this night!

In a department store...

A few weeks ago, I passed by the area where stereos and cd players are sold and suddenly I heard Forever Young (special extended mix). I wanted to go and talk to the salesman, but the people that I came with, pulled me away, no matter how I protested and wanted to go back. :(

I must be going crazy or the brandy's won the race 32

Once in a while in a country cottage of our friends where we were wasting some time out of the very old and noisy radio came Sound Like A Melody... It was nice...

Being a true fan, any time is a time for Alphaville, but some are more unusual , or just different....
Songs you will remember because you were having a peak experience at the time.
one of mine is looking out over the bay, in Berkeley, California, and listening to "for a million" at sunset, with the sun almost centered on the golden gate bridge on a summer evening.
Another fan told me about the magic of this kind of listening...maybe Marie heard it from here . I listened to The Breathtaking Blue album on my discman as I walked across the Golden Gate Bridge, but it was the middle of the day, the sky was blue, the sea was blue, it was a beautiful sunny day, 11 August 2002. I love San Francisco...

(it was only later that night on the news that I found out there was a high terror alert on that very bridge and that the whole bridge was kept under high surveillance...my mom, very worried, called later to make sure that I was all right and wasn't anywhere close to that part of the city, you can imagine her reaction when I told her I had been walking across the bridge....)

Open your eyes and let the sun break in for a while...there may be something that you've never seen inside...

Well, in Germany itīs not that unusual to hear FY, BIJ, SLAM, DWM, JS and J. But:
Last November I was sitting at my new hairdresser and his stereo was playing Iron John.
Wow!!! Never heard that one in a public room before. Three months later same place he
played Lies. I approached him and we had a nice conversation about Alphaville and music
generally. I think Iīll keep on getting my hair cut by him for a few times...
