OMD announce the release of their 30 year anniversary CD+DVD Greatest hits. The news is taken from their official website www.omd.uk.com
More details on the forthcoming new OMD compilation: Messages – OMD Greatest Hits 30 Years In Sight & Sound (CDVX 3050) will be a combination of CD and DVD. The package will be released on 29nd September 2008. A digital download will also be made available via some outlets. The DVD will feature 31 OMD promotional videos centred around their singles of choice. This marks the first time that all of the promo videos have been released on DVD, many of them are very rare and includes Red Frame/White Light - the 'lost' promo video. Hold You was previously available on the video Crush The Movie. Joan Of Arc had no promo video filmed at the time (as it was a UK release) so its place is taken with an appearance on the UK music show Top Of The Pops instead. The track listings are as follows: CD:

I think, OMD is a good band. They recorded great songs and they still remember me time when I was a very small child. Together with father & mother & with their friends we were on a big bike-trip to "Baltyk" sea. It was 800 km from us house. Father had a red walkman, and all the time I was hearing OMD, alphaville and another great songs! We was traveling between the forests, beautiful meadows, lakes and we were sleeping in tents. I remeber that like time of full free :). So In Love, Maid Of Orleans... Ahhh.... It was so fresh and clear.. Today I found more their tracks, and I must to tell: "That it's great too!" Dynamic Electricty, great Almost, and another points from Poul e's list.

Sister Marie says (demo)
In 2010 the new OMD album "History of modern" will be released. A track on that album will be a song called "Sister Marie says". OMD has just released a demo of this song for free download. It is typical OMD sound and I really can't wait to get my hands on this album!!!
I recently preordered the DVD that was recorded from the OMD performance with Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra....it will be fantastic to watch and hear the music of OMD played "as classical music"!!! The DVD only cost £15 + postage and it is signed by Andy MacCluskey! Here is the demo of "Sister Marie says"....enjoy!! |

I really love this song! I hope, the album will really be released next year.
Not like other bands, who only announce a new album and nothing happens. But I won´t mention a name here. And I also preordered the DVD. I couldn´t make it to this concert, but so we all will get a chance to see it. |

I heard OMD in 2007 and it was one of the best concerts ever - I look forward to the album! |

Sister Marie Says is a great song! Looking forward to the album in 2010. I had the song on repeat for many hours when they released the demo.
And I ordered the DVD a few weeks back "The moment I see you with your trousers dropped will be as rewarding as just having shopped" Call Me Old-Fashioned - PSB |

NICE! I bought the Messages CD+DVD a couple of weeks ago. Must still watch the DVD - only watched the first 3 or 4 videos. CD has been in my car since I bought it.
