History Question - Salt Lake City concerts

Everyone,

I'm a new member and a long time resident of the greater Salt Lake City, Utah area. I have a question.

Because my boss at the time was involved in setting it up, I went to an Alphaville concert here in Salt Lake City in 1999. I wasn't a fan (then) but I remember going. In fact, right now I'm staring at a set list and an "All Area" pass my boss gave me back then.

Here's the confusing part: all the YouTube clips mention the concert being at the Little America Hotel, but I remember it being on the Salt Lake County fairgrounds, or something like that.

Am I thinking of the same concert, or not? My set list says July 16th and 17th.

Thanks,

Skolem

The Little America was, in fact, the hotel in which the band had stayed, and they used it for the DVD title.

The concert, on the other hand, would have been at the fairgrounds, or at least, in a different building. The DVD extras include a building that hosted at least one of the shows.

Hello, my friend...

Thanks... 5 min. response time, impressive.

Well, then, I was there. Presumably I might be able to spot myself in some of the clips. Here is what I remember: I got two free tickets and stood with my date front row for the whole concert. I remember Marion Gold downing a whole beer just before hooping onstage for (one of) the encore(s). I also remember that the acoustics in that building weren't, well, terrific. I had fun though.

I've only seen some of the youtube clips, not the actual DVD.

I was at that concert! Great show, but only 3.2 beer! Luckily a very nice guy gave me his Captain and 7. It was great being at the first US show - and being with such an amazing Alphaville community!
