yet another......
Look For Me - 10/8/01 When the nightmares full of villains Come to take you from your sleep And the shadows try to plunder All those treasures locked up deep You may feel like you've lost control And want to give up the fight You are your own worst enemy- I know what you're really like And when you feel all alone Just look for me I will be there beside you With all my love and strength To guide you No matter what they say or do Just remember I love you Don't think that you won't stumble When they take your sunny skies It's you against the universe As you sift the truth and lies They say time's supposed to heal you It just breaks you down instead While the clay is crumbling at your feet You're chasing demons in your head And when you feel all alone Just look for me I will be there beside you With all my love and strength To guide you No matter what they say or do Just remember I love you Russell Harvey (from 'a rough sketch') ***This life is expensive, but at least it comes with a free trip around the sun!*** Edited by - russharvey on 27 Dec 2001 19:21:57 |

and yet another.......
Fear - 9/18/01 While the world's still sleeping She sews shadows in the light You'll feel her in the morning and think everything's alright you can't pretend to know her when others are around but if you blink she'll steal your mind and never make a sound What will you do? What will you say? Either stand to fight or simply walk away How do I feel? What do I see? So delicate the consequence the choice is up to me gathering the dogs of war and laughing with those eyes she is lying to your soul again can't you hear their evil cries? But you'll worship at her alter take her image to your grave and in the end there's nothing left just a lonely bitter slave What will I do? What will I say? Either stand to fight or simply walk away How do you feel? What do you see? So delicate the consequence the choice is up to me Russell Harvey (from 'a rough sketch') ***This life is expensive, but at least it comes with a free trip around the sun!*** Edited by - russharvey on 12 Oct 2001 07:19:33 |

I actually do like your poems! My three favourites are All I need, Fear and Look For Me. Though I find that your latest poems are getting better. They flow more nicely. Now all you have to do is find some musicians and put some songs together.. (heh, easier said than done right?)

Fear, look for me and waiting for the fight look very promising, I think. An own style. When I read them, melodys and sound effects come to my mind to release them. Sad we cannot send both our melodys through this forum.
What I notice through all your lyrics is that they are clear and under aspects of metaphers or poetic styles quite simple (which is by no means meant negative!!) and so or but therefore seem very personal, authentic, feeling. Could surely bear a harder, a bit rocky style for melody. Hey, there comes one idea: What about us all trying to build up a network where we exchange and produce some (not necessarily of our earlier written - they might be too personal) songs together??!! even those who are afraid to live - they`re dying someday |

Thanks Streetside Romeo for your kind words! I think your observations are quite good actually.
As for a network.... good idea, but someone like me may need more help in getting the ideas out of my head and actually onto sheet music, so to speak! ***This life is expensive, but at least it comes with a free trip around the sun!*** |

Ok - here is another new one. Please let me know what you think?
Legacy - 11/24/01 Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and sorry I could not travel both I took the one less traveled by I took the one less traveled by So here I stand after a million miles a worn out compass in my hand alone to ponder this legacy, I see there's nothing left of Ozymandius but broken statues in the sand Orion's star won't lead me home tonight He has lost his glowing bow and Draco's fire burned up on Pern only the dolphins really know why all the lights in the Milky Way were turned off long ago I met an artist at a roadside stand who could paint a portrait of my soul but when he was done I swear I've never seen the old man staring back at me with wrinkled caverns on his brow Oh Harry, where's your magic now? Orion's star won't lead me home tonight He has lost his glowing bow and Draco's fire burned up on Pern only the dolphins really know why all the lights in the Milky Way were turned off long ago Orion's star won't lead me home tonight Orion's star won't lead me home Orion's star won't lead you home tonight Orion's star won't lead you home Orion's star............ is gone Russell Harvey (from 'a rough sketch') ***This life is expensive, but at least it comes with a free trip around the sun!*** |
