I tend to find rockish arrangements positive for AV songs, but I'm one more who didn't like this one.

I like this version. Marian Gold joined them on stage a couple of years ago to perform this song and i have seen the footage on youtube. I just went on youtube to find it but it obviously has been removed as i can't find it now. [bheart]

I seen it about a year ago. I have searched everywhere to see if the video got posted elsewhere, no luck yet. I can't even find a picture. There is a mention of the concert on the homepage http://www.a-life-divided.de/ and scroll down near the bottom of the page. I will keep looking, i want to see it again now.

Re: A Life Divided 'Sounds' Cover, opinion...
Lunarcrew;
I have to say, even though the lead singer's English is mildly awkward (forgive me not knowing his name; I'd never heard of this band or the 'Sounds' cover prior to this thread), this cover is actually pretty good. Lots of frantic energy in this; the drumline added a dimension that reminded me of Nightwish or AC-DC's metal, something that Alphaville frequently did without on any of the studio albums I'm familiar with. The weakest point in the song is right at the end of the second-last bar where the drumline and guitarline bottoms out, something that the handful of versions done by Alphaville originally (including the original on 'Forever Young') never did, with their synth and bassline revving up and becoming stronger instead. That part in ILD's version, if anything, took away from their cover. -LBD. |

For me, the cover version of Randy Bush is nefast and absolutely horrible. The worst version that i watched of one song of the band.

Best AV covers are Malvin ones, a must-hear on Youtube.
Really fascinating. |
