GREAT song, simply GREAT...songwriting, arrangements, production, all is champions league - and it's a truly ballsy choice for a single, too, proving that the artistic fire is still burning and has not been put out by commercial cravings. Love you, guys - keep on dancing, all you fools!!
For a minute I was searching for a Like button... and then I realised, oh wait, that's not FB!

Except for the voice I can't hear many Alphaville elements in the sound, which doesn't sound like Alphaville at all. I don't like the high pitched voice that much, it doesn't show what Marian can do, and that's a pity for one of the best singers out there.

The sound is rough and very guitar based, no synths can be heard, nothing that I really notice.

The chorus is nice and the song would work well performed live, but overall I would give it 2 out of 5 points.
Sorry...

Well,This time I am sad to say that I agree with you.

Sounds like Bee Gees with Heavy guitars, dont like the Falsetto song,The Chorus is good and the second half of the song is better than the start.

I definately want more synths Alphaville=Synths

For those of you who Always say that Crog is so bad ,what do you want from Alphaville a new TBB(Their weakist album by far)

As I don't want to be spoiled of S.A. as a whole unit, I still haven't heard the single (or any others snippets) and don't plan to before next month.
(it's the idea, but that may prove too hard to resist ).

Anyway, reading all of you with great interest. All I need to order now is amazon.fr or .com...

So Crog is not a bad album but for me its to poppy...and the synths are not really big in it!

Heartbreak city is something new combined with the old classic Sound....a bit strange and catchy but after many

repeats of the song......now I have to say its a great track!

Fore sure on the album will be more synths....

I agree with you. That is not the Alphaville I know.
I miss the synths so much...
This sounds like a demo, but a little more refined.
And the backing vocals could be louder, I think.

Anyway, let's hope the other songs are more like they used to be.

I agree with Willy. This is not the Alphaville I love....
Marians voice has been destroyed and the synths are almost entirely gone.....for me the two main reasons I love Alphaville. What's left is boring....

But I have hope for "Handfull of darkness" and a couple more tracks on the album ....

Oh yes!

It is STRANGE as an Alphaville song.

And that's why it's ATTRACTIVE!!

A good call for a single. Very groovy and catchy. All the previous good is there - Marian's signature vocals, some synths, a great composition - plus lots of good new stuff - the falsetto, disco groove etc.

I am sure the album will be a killer! Thanks Alphavile!

Only heard it once. Need to listen again a few times before I can say what I think...

Before you judge me, make sure you're perfect.
