It's a bird of poets. The whiteness of the swan is the sincerity of a poet. The Celts considered that the "swans' music" had got the magical characteristics.... The hare is a Moon Animal and also an attribute of all the Moon Gods. It embodies the rebirth/revival as well as the swan, the return of youth, the intuition and the light in the darkness. Very often the hare is associated with the sacrifice fire and life which has gone through death... also a symbol of love, shyness, life wisdom. The white hare is a God himself... By the way, according to the Chinese Moon-Sun calendar, 2011 is the year of the White Rabbit/Hare... The monkey can be understood in different...opposite ways, positive and negative. On the one hand, it's a man's caricature. Often percieved as the sign of angriness, vice, vanity, avidity, dissipation, absence of the firm moral bases, cunning, craftiness, laziness, drunkness... On the other hand, it's a creative sign... the sign of the creative people, their fantasies and ideas and the symbol of learning. In many belives monkeys were and are highly esteemed, respected. Somewhere it is the God of dance. What about those tubes in their paws, I don't have any suppositions yet. So, you can have various "readings" of this logo...

I had to open that pic up on a new tab so that I can go back and forth while examining it.
The "rabbit on the run" as he jumps over the moon is a nice reference. Can't tell if the moon has a monkey's face, but where there may not be one, they make up for it with the two playing instruments below all that. The omega and alpha signs near the top...The end of one era (WEA and the independents), the beginning of another (Universal)! The sun had already been mentioned as a ref to TBB. The swan, though...What kind of swan song did AV do...? Hello, my friend... |

I'm sure that when it was created the band put several meanings into each sign of the logo.  & Just the swan meanings are total contrary to my experiences...[smile2] Swan song: I really hope that will never happen!
