Last week, I was at my physiotherapist for a massage. There's always music while he's caring for us. Hard to stay still when listening Big in Japan ("no, you don't dance, I can't do my job").

Whatever you do, never explain yourself : your friends don't need it, and your enemies won't believe you.

Got hooked on Dr. Strangelove movie lately, I won't give away the plot, it seems weird and yet there is a connection with AV : P.O.E.

The 107th episode of TV-Serie "Little House In The Prairie" (S05E17, 22/1/1979) is titled "Dance With Me" and feature someone singing "Beautiful Dreamer" from Stephen Foster (4/7/1826-13/1/1864).

Lyrics:
Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me,
Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee;
Sounds of the rude world, heard in the day,
Lull'd by the moonlight have all passed away!
Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song,
List while I woo thee with soft melody;
Gone are the cares of life's busy throng,
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea,
Mermaids are chanting the wild lorelei;
Over the streamlet vapors are borne,
Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn.
Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart,
Even as the morn on the streamlet and sea;
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart,
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

The song has been recorded by Thomas Hampson featuring David Alpher at the piano.
A doo-wop version was written for Tony Orlando.

Other songs by Stephen Foster includes:
"Ah! May the Red Rose Live Always"
"I Will Be True To Thee"
"A Thousand Miles From Home"

A documentary was made in 2004 about the Beach Boys unfinished SMiLE album, titled "Beautiful Dreamer, Brian Wilson and the Story Of Smile".

"Lamu: Beautiful Dreamer" is a manga movie from 1984. In the movie one day repeat itself without ending...

Alphaville is referenced throughout the episode 2.6 of 'Counterpart' which for the most part is a flashback episode.
Alphaville is said to be 'the best' near the beginning & SLAM can be heard trough a walkman.
Later on 'Afternoons in Utopia' is bought, the Amiga version since the action takes place in East-Berlin.
Then 'Universal Daddy' is heard later at the middle.
It turns out this AIU tape is central to the whole series!

Funnily enough the whole show is somehow about false symmetries...

Edit:
Episode 2.1 is titled 'Inside Out'

Not a connection so to speak, but I heard a snippet of a song and the beginning had a woman singing "I was walking in the rain" and I thought of Thunder & Lightning and, of course, Flame :)

On the surface, this is a hopeful song celebrating the virtues of youth, but a closer listen reveals a fear of aging and death. The song was written during the Cold War, where the singer is "hoping for the best, but expecting the worst; are you gonna drop the bomb or not?" The song was used in the following shows:

The TV show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (episode 103: "Underage Drinking: A National Concern")
Queer As Folk (season 1, episode 18)
One Tree Hill (season 4, episode 16).
The movie Listen To Me
Napoleon Dynamite in the school dance scene.

Commercials for Saturn ION automobiles.
