voice is good!
The song reminds me from some songs on crazyshow, but music isn't as alphavillish, but that is only good thing, since it is not alphaville! -Stephen Hawking |

TheBlue: "voice is good!"
O, yea, my soul is enjoying... Beauty is not a need but an ecstasy. It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear, But rather an image you see though you close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears. (Khalil Gibran) |

I was surprised Marian sang so much, I just though he would do a peace of the song. No matter how the song is, it always feel like coming home hearing his voice.

Question:
Dear ever-changing Collective, Please forgive me for not being very observant, in the event this has been mentioned here already, but I wanted to be sure to congratulate Marian for once again capturing the Zeitgeist in his collaboration with Riccardo Cherubini, „Disillusion‰. Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to receive a link from Bernd F. and subsequently purchase it on the ITunes, and I‚ve been listening to it virtually nonstop since. to Neither a catchy, thumping electronic disco ditty, nor a composition which pushes the envelope of one‚s sonic expectations, the song is a simple yet effective use of guitar and Marian‚s classic dynamic soaring vocals, plus the lyrical poignancy I‚ve come to expect only from the likes of Marian Gold himself or Janey Diamond. For me, it could hardly have come at a more appropriate time in the soundtrack of my life, both personally and of course, globally-speaking. And somewhat ironically, it also harkens back to the sentiments I felt during the time of „Zoo‰‚s release, as well as its follow-up, „On the Beach‰. Indeed, we are blessed to have Marian & Friends here by our side in these days full of wonder∑making life more bearable, not by ignoring it- but through an acute awareness and a sense that at least on some levels we live in an interconnected, benevolent, and beautiful universe. So, if the musician/magician is listening. Who wrote the song? Was it you, or Riccardo, or both, or none of the above? Do you have any more info to share about the project? It was nice to see you in Prague, and thanks again for such a wonderful event in a venue that surely few have the craft, presence and charisma to justify. And of course- I look forward to hearing the new album this fall, Inshallah. With all my love, Marie Answer: Dear Marie, so nice to hear from you! The track is written by Riccardo. I only added a few things. I think it's a very, very beautiful song with an almost Pink Floyd-ish feel to it (listen to Riccardo's fantastic guitar play!!) and I am proud of having been given the opportunity to sing along. Would like to play this on our shows as well. Would be a dream to do it together with Riccardo. Have a nice weekend everybody Marian Gold PS Been a bit in a rush taking the children home, doing a run around the lake (that's for the "sports question":-) packing my things for this weekend's concerts, feeding the dog and looking forward seeing some of you guys on the gig in Biesenthal. By the way, production's going well, still on time. Surreal, isn't it??? MG From the mailiglist |

I'm always open to discovering new music via my current favorite musicians, but I must admit this song didn't really do it for me. It feels "off" somehow, and even though Marian's voice is gorgeous as always, I felt like he had to "drag the song along" if that makes sense...But I downloaded it (Itunes) anyway, and I'm sure I'll put it in a playlist somewhere because it's always good to have variety in your collection.

I felt he found it hard to hold the melody. Don't like it.

To me, all the melody is in Marian's singing, because the song itself is almost completely flat.
