OK, am just getting into Tubular Bells 3. Never could really understand why he had to make TB2 and 3 anyway (apart from having to appease Richard Branson with TB2!) but, having listened to it more, I have to say that, while TB2 is almost a reworking of TB1, TB3 is totally different and I love it (the track Top Of The Morning is beautiful and Far Above The Clouds is amazing!)!

However, my fave albums are now in this order:

1. Ommadawn
2. Hergest Ridge
3. Platinum
4. Incantations (used to be my fave in 1978!)
5. all the rest

(am still waiting to get into Amarok even though ardent Oldfield fans reckon it's his best work.)

On another side, I recently read Oldfield's autobiography. Was interesting reading but not a lot mentioned of his life after the early 1980s.

There is a rumour going around that Mike Oldfield will be playing the Glastonbury Festival this year, although Universal (his record company) have denied it. However, the rumour is gaining strength...

Mike Oldfield has just released the 2011 remix of his double album "Incantations" and will be talking about it on BBC Radio 6 today sometime between 1pm and 4pm BST. You can listen live here:

If you miss it, you can probably catch it later on BBC iPlayer (funnily enough, the radio broadcasts work on there).

I've just right this minute received the Tubular Bells for Schools piano score from Mike and I'm looking into doing it in school for him so he can feedback on it! OMG! 35 bloody years I've waited to connect with my God and now all this in a couple of days! It's too much excitement for me [smile2]

(where's the peeing myself with excitement smiley?)

Awesome!!! Isn't it great when someone you admire love and look to for inspiration acknowledges your contribution to their field of genius-ness?

It's more than awesome! Our music dept. is on now with the piano score and we're trying to get hold of the full orchestral score. Really exciting!
