funny... was going through my closet last night looking for something else and I discovered that I had not lost my Falco - Rock Me Amadeus 12" record with Vienna Calling as the B-Side after all! Oh the memories!!!!! Now that is a mid 80's treasure!!!

Funny - I'm listening to Vienna Calling ("live") (no joke!). Now that I also bought that "Symphonic"-DVD,
I listen to it excessively -
That CD version is great, but - believe it or not - somehow it is TOO FAT! I really prefer the music of
the DVD, because it has the perfect live-illusion and sounds a bit more open and airy...

My prognose for 2008: It will be hard for any artist I'm interested in to beat that this year.
Maybe Portishead.
AV will not go and release something this year anyway...[smile2]

Weird that I discovered this a year after it has been posted even though I usually read most of the topics. Well, I guess I wasn't quite myself this time last year....
I watched and listened to the samples and I think I'll put the DVD on my wishlist...

studio vocal tracks. Anyway: It sounds fantastic! [jump2]
You can tell by these releases that somebody close to Falco was responsible for the work.
On the backside of the cover are the words
"Mit großer Verbeugung vor einem großen Künstler
Thank you Falco
Danke Hans"
(With a big bow to a big artist. Thank you Falco. Danke Hans)
Says it all.

Around 18:30-19:00 today on Arte TV (France) there was a long review on Falco's career, with lots of interviews, lives, video clips and so on. Best and most interestings moments are the interviews parts ; I don't know if it will be re-broadcasted, but it's worth a watch (Arte TV Germany ?).

Falco

I couldn't find a Falco thread here (sorry if there's actually one and I just failed to notice it!!), so I wanna ask what you think about him? AND: Did you ever notice similarities between him and Marian (their voices, the answers they give in interviews)??

I love Falco. I think his music is different from Av but he really has Several masterpieces like Jeanny, Vienna Calling, the sound of Musik (the best for me) ...
