I thought the same thing.

Yes, I stayed awake nearly the whole night as well. It was very exciting and I'm happy with the result.

I was happy yesterday morning too.

I couldn't stay up for the results as my parents were staying but I got up early and had he radio on, trouble is I had to listen to weather and sports news first. Had a panic when I heard "landslide for McCain" or something like it, but some bright spark named a racehorse that (cheers for the panic attack mate!) Did do a happy dance round the kitchen while waving a porridge pan when I heard the actual news.

It's like 1997 when Blair won in the UK, regardless of what I think of the new guy (and I really don't have a clue what he'll do) it was nice to see the old lot get their comeuppance.

Remember he's in office, not in power. There's a huge difference.

To be honest, in the beginning of Obama's speach, I was sincerely worried that some right-wing/racist nut would be on some roof top... I did notice though that he was surrounded by bullet proof glass from the sides.

The threat against someone like him is crystal clear. We all know what happened to JFK and later also his brother Bobby (whom which I think would have been a wonderful leader, and I wonder how USA would have looked today if he would have survived the election). It's a scenario I much fear but truly hope will never be realised.

Same here. He's a target for sure now. I just hope he has enough people looking out for him.

I'm so happy!

Before you judge me, make sure you're perfect.

I was a bit choked up when he won it as well. Maybe it was from the humongous turnout he had in Chicago that really did it for me, but really, he earned the honor.

Obama, don't listen to the crap of you advisers! Listen to AV and be a good president!
Good luck! You can use it!

I feel exactly the same....there's something about Obama that I don't like.....just can't put my finger on it. I am certain though that Sarah Palin shouldn't get anywhere near any important decisions!!!
