Ana, I live near Glasgow (okay 3 hours away but that is near in a Highlands sense). I will be going to the Glasgow and Belfast concerts and desperately hope that they go ahead.

Meanwhile I'm watching the Brexit disaster very closely and will be the first to post if it affects these concerts. It is certainly affecting my ability to travel to mainland Europe. I really want to go to Berlin and Hamburg but can't risk suddenly becoming a 3rd country national in the middle of it all and maybe even not getting back.

I desperately hope that it gets stopped. It's madness and I can certainly see that if there is a no deal scenario getting Alphaville and their stage equipment into the UK could be somewhat challenging even if many of the UK based bands can still get there.

Clare and Ana. The lowdown on this Brexit discussion also goes to air travel. If an Air line has a 52% share owned by EU companys, they are ok for traveling from the UK. Otherwise, you will have to make other travel arrangements to get into the EU. Possibly a ferry to either France or Ireland, then a Flight to another EU country will be OK. Ryanair are not 52% owned, so if you are flying with them, ring them to ask what your situation is.

This is ONLY if there is a NO deal with Brexit, and only applies anyone flying OUT of the UK

Being honest, though, Brexit shouldn't affect Alphaville going to the UK. It would just be the same for them as going to any other country that's not in the EU, and they've done that a plenty.

Anyone going into the UK is subject to stringent tariffs and customs checks. I'm not trying to put a dampener on the shows. Because Alphaville will belong to an indoor Festival, the Promoters may be in line for the tariffs.

Any tours not in the EU would be the same, so going to the UK post-Brexit wouldn't be any different.

Yes. But anyone flying out to a show post brexit may be in trouble as there are no trade deals struck with airlines. EU membership is ok, but UK will be like any other country now, and that includes Northern Ireland.

Don't see how that would present a problem for Alphaville going to the UK, though. I really don't think Liverpool being cancelled has anything to do with Brexit
