Don't remember if you did! Funny about the "g". When I'm teaching spellin' I have to really accentuate the "g" in words ending with it or my kids write a "k".

Daft thing now is, with the advent of synthetic phonics in teaching reading, we actually teach "-ng" as a phoneme (i.e. one sound block). Still have to emphasise the "g" though or it gets lost in spelling (despite the kids supposedly knowing the digraph, or the two letters, that represent the sound) so it kind of defeats the purpose.
