There are a few places in Montmartre including the area around the Sacre Coeur and especially Barbes Rochechouard where people try to sell fake or stolen stuff to tourists on the streets. They can be very annoying when you dont seem to be inerested in buying their stuff, but best thing you can do is just don't talk and walk away .
In general, in the whole center of Paris situations can be unsave. Especially by night. Never carry your bags on your back as its easy to get robbed that way, and wear wallets always under your clothes. ~~ Ријaнa [love2] Алфaвил ~ ~You gotta fight, for your right to party~ |

This advice could apply to all big cities, it's common sense. I mean where I differ is that risky situations are mainly in the subway, so not especially at night.

Yes, if we had the party at another big city where I have been before I would have said the same thing. But I must say that in the subway I felt a whole lot saver then on the streets most of the time
I'm answering the question from what are my own experiences there. ~~ Ријaнa [love2] Алфaвил ~ ~You gotta fight, for your right to party~

Montmartre is close to Pigalle. No more safe I've been there last month, with pupils, and it's like you said, Richani.

But is never kept me away from good pubs and parties all night long! [smile2] My favorite place there is 'Le Chat Noir'. a bar open 24/7 and also wonderfull places for those who smoke 24/7

I tried to find something closer to the venue, but the travel agency doesn't work with all hotels, so the closest I could get was Villa Luxembourg, on Montparnasse.
I'll be attentive on tips about transport, safety and touristy activities. [bouncy] |
