David Gahan
Hey...have you heard David Gahan's new single "Dirty Sticky Floors"? It's much better than I had expected!! Reminds me a bit about the DM-song "It's no good".
What do you think? |

The whole album is a nice surprise. IMO better than Martin's effort but Martin's album is a real grower.

Never been a Depeche Mode fan and I don't think I ever will be, even though some of their songs were good - I remember 1981 too well!

I really like the album!! It was so odd hearing it at first knowing it was just David Gahan. It is more rock, though there are some ballads! I like his rock songs better though. My fav songs are:
Dirty Sticky Floors Bottle Living Black and Blue Again A Little Piece Goodbye Hidden Houses It was faaaar better then even *I* thought it would be! I am now just waiting for tour dates.. Overall, way more dm fans like his album then I thought. David's attitude isd all attitude where Martin's is more laid back. I also have a boot already of one of mart's live shows is anyone is interested. (from Cologne) Tara :) |

I think the dave album is a grower, I prefer the sound of Martins album, technically its a much more intricate work, but Daves has more commercial potential. I saw martin Gore a couple of weeks ago at the Astoria in London, it was awesome! Altho that said i must admit that it did get a little boring in the middle. He did his cover version of Never Turn your Back On Mother Earth which well pleaseed me, a guy from my second favourite band covering a song by my favourite band! He finished with an outstanding piano version of Shake the Disease which everyone went wild to, easily the highlight of the night with an unbelievable powerful version of Sweetest Perfection coming a close second. The funniest thing was seeing Andy Fletcher having trouble getting his ticket (backstage pass)! I was at the show with Paul Humphries from OMD, ooooh look at me name dropping:-) might as well go the whole hog and mention his wife Claudia Brucken (Propaganda) was with us too:-), anyway, he said that he wouldnt let Andy in! Apparently Mr Fletcher's not such a nice guy when hes not doing his polite bit for the fans!

A friend of mine went to the show here in Sweden, and he said that it was fantastic. He played a lot of DM-stuff.
