If the new album is as good as salvation...and gets promoted. then hell yes!
but if its mediocre....then no one can help AV. I have faith! |

I don't understand what is considered as "hit potentiality" in the name of the topic. No chance to know it anyway, since its author is eventually banned[eyebrows]
Whether this album will produce worldwide hits and return long gone popularity... is it still a question? Do we have a need to discuss it at all? Worlwide fame's long gone since AIU times. The only way for achieving new fans is by the means of new persons interested in old material with the development into later albums and becoming a fan. But I'm pretty sure that it WILL certainly have hits in a scale of own music and career. And this is, friends, a lot more important. It is the only important thing for last 15 years or so. E.g., nobody quarrels that Wishful Thinking or Fools are hits despite noone from the outter world actually knows this song. Not correct form of question, and it is rhetorical one anyway. I solemnly swear that I am up to no good. [jump1] |

it depends on what you are defining as a hit.... will there be a single that when released will get massive air time on radio and internet and earn them a gold or platinum record? probably not. will there be good songs that we truly enjoy and will play over and over again on our mp3 players... most certainly. AV without a label for support has already shown they lack any marketing prowess to turn a good song into a hit. They will most likely get a few songs to move up internet charts or independent music magazine lists but I just do not see any kind of mainstream success for this album.... after all... hasn't it been that way for the last 10-15 years?

Maybe it will be a brilliant commercial success like Aha's latest album?

I don't think so. I don't think AV ever really had the international clout that a-ha had (and still has).
