Okay, there goes that idea...
They say you can ease the throat if you gargle with salt water, a teaspoon of salt for every 8 oz. water... Yet my throat cannot handle that.

An other idea is to have a warm glass of milk with honey.And, If you take this before going to bed ,it will help you to rest properly too
