Hate to use Past Simple... I suppose Martin was not just the keyboard player, but the main stage sound producer, so changing him would be much more difficult task than just finding another musician. It is possible, but will not be immediate - on both technical and personal levels.
And as for the contracts... as a rule they can be teared up on a force majeure situation, and this is what we clearly have. I solemnly swear that I am up to no good. [jump1]

RIP Martin Lister
this (in the aftermath deleted quotation of post by Mysteries_of_Love) is the very most inadequate comment one could ever post.

Let's not rip anyone apart here. What seems appropriate for some may seem inappropriate for others. It is because we are from differing backgrounds and cultures. And when there is a death, sometimes people simply don't know what to say. So please let us be kind to one another.

To be perfectly frank with you, a man who was not only a great musician, composer and musical director, but also a great friend to many of us in this forum, has just died. Right now, at this moment, to talk about his replacement and fulfilling contracts is totally inappropriate whatever culture you come from. If that upsets you, so be it. As for me, I'm more upset that we've lost Martin and we'll never see him or talk to him again, and that his close friends and family read this forum also and have to be subjected to this BS at this time.

Perfectly stated, Karen.
This forum is based on kindness and a fine treatment between users, but there is no tolerance for thoughtless remarks. We are all shocked and deeply sad for what happened. Thank you, Willy. |
