Eurovision Song Contest
This was terrible. The artists were OK. But the final results made me and my friends choke on our beer!! We couldn't believe what we were seeing. I'm not saying that Sweden were the best (even if I really do think so). But hey... Shit...
The best and funniest were without a doubt Greece!!! I loved their outfits and "synth" style!! I just laughed!! And the best was when the Swedish commentator compared them with Alphaville!! [:o)][:o)][8D] I fell out of my beer! look what you've done - it's time for the Phoenix to fly Edited by - AD on 28 May 2002 15:19:45 |

What about Denmark? The worse ever - as the last with only 7 points, the song and girl was ok though, so I really donīt get it.

Yes, It's quite the mystery! I really couldn't believe that myself. I really think that Denmark had a OK song, with a really OK girl!! It defenetaly should have been in the top 10! But then again, nothing made sence in this contest.
Is it us beeing sour losers or do we have a point? I don't know. But it's strange. look what you've done - it's time for the Phoenix to fly |

All my friends commented Greece when I spoke with them, I didnīt know why until I heard the song (I didnīt watch the show, so I downloaded the song after)
And yeah, synth synth! Very bad synth, but still, synth! :) But did they really talk about ALPHAVILLE???? Do you know when they will show this again...or have I already missed it?
~/~/~Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, live today~/~/~ a l p h a v i l l e
|

you know, even though I'm The Synthfan, my pesonal opinion is that Greeces was the WORST, really, I laughed my ass off, but it sucked, it really did. Cyprus (another country who together with Greece are usually among the hottest lineups in the EV-songcontests) was a disappointment this year too...Finland was pretty OK I think (compared to the earlier years songs), but my dad (who sent his song to the finnish jury who chose the finalists) had a better one I think ...I think Latvias song sucked big time, it was more of a song that you maybe hear on a beach in Spain during masstourism, not a Eurovision song, but it won =/ damn old grannies, they shouldn't vote at all.
In general I must say that the EV-songcontest isn't the same as it used to be when they started it, it used to be a game about the best song between the European countries, but now it's more of a political gauge, the countries vote for their neighbourcountries instead of the best song etc...and anyways, you can for example send your song to some Lithuanian jury and get into the contest even if you were an Italian, so it's no longer a contest between the countries, it's just a composition-game, no fun, just plain winning...in general, I think this years EV-contest was a big disappointment, luckily one good thing was that the two best songs of the whole contest, Britainīs and Franceīs (whichīs perfomance actually reminded me a bit of Mirelle Mathieu) didn't flop completely...hope next yearīs better! Yes, I agree totally with you Micki. My personnal regret is that most of the songs were written...in english! For the moment France keeps singing in french. But maybe it will change next year.

Have you seen the party we had in Hamburg? All the other people with their points were just sitting in a studio, but in Hamburg we were 30.000 people on the street.
My favourite was FRANCE !!! |
