what is "Carol Masters" about?

Hello everybody

Sorry if this topic has been discussed before- I was just wondering: what is the song "Carol Masters" about? I know lyrics can be interpreted differently, but I honestly don't have a clue? Any thoughts, ideas would be much appreciated!

thanks!

I remember an interview with Marian in which he was asked this question. But I can't remember his answer, I'm sorry.....

I don't know the true meaning what this song is about...But I have Me own interpretations
of it...Here's me interpretation and it's probably pretty far fetched:

To me this sounds like an E.T. kind of thing
Like she's from outer space and having to deal with the burdens of Earth and it's painful to her. Or Maybe she just feels like an outsiders? Later in the song he mentions that she wants to go to Mars...Where's shes from maybe? Then he mentions Cygnus...A constellation in the Northern Hemisphere Which is also known as the Northern Cross...Some religious metaphor there maybe?
Something to think about there...I have thought of this song three ways..
One: the less brain staking way..just a regular woman hoping for more than what she has...Icy Shots? Maybe she's in a hospital and she can't go home?
Two: she's an E.T. and wants to go home to Mars
Three: In a more religious metaphor..We shall meet tomorrow night and I kiss you just as tenderly As CYGNUS kissed the deserts...Maybe waiting for the second coming? As I said...these are me own interpretations I do not know the true meaning of this song meself...(So don't shoot me if they sound cooky)...I don't know what Mr. Gold has said about this one in particular...But I like tearing the pieces out of it and seeing what there is in there and those are the three things I seen mentioned...
Lonely woman...Martians...Northern Cross

Cygnus: The Constellation of the Swan
The channels of A'daar: The eroded waterways on mars!(or something similar to that...)
