I haven't got mine yet (it's in the mail!) but I do agree that complaining over it is pretty petty.... I mean, yeah, sure it would be nice to (as everyone else said before) have it in english and have Marian say more BUT not everything can please everyone. And remember - AV is a German band, so their prime language is German. It would be like me yelling at Beborn Beton cause they didn't use english in all their songs, cause *I* an english speaking person, like their music, and therefore, they should cater for *me* You know? Though I guess we forget this cause AV lyrics are in english.

I don't look at it as being left out. I look at it more like a challenge. You don't know the German spoken language and you wished you knew? Then learn it! :) I actually decided to learn German because the bands I liked had German lyrics, and also cause the bands I liked were huge in Germany and I was sick of getting all these magazine articles in German and I couldn't read them! lol.. Plus certain people I admired learned and spoke German, so I figured why not? I'm serious, that's why I decided to learn it! Sounds silly doesn't it? And to this day I am glad I did :) It's helped in jobs too.

It is a gift through and through, so there really shouldn't be any complaining. Though I have learned from other band forums/mailing lists that everyone always coplains about EVERYTHING. A band can never do any good it seems..

So look at it as a gift - when you get a gift from someone do you then spout out about how bad it is/how dissapointed you are about some things relating to the gift to the person who gave it to you? I'd hope not.

Tara :)

I don´t complain over the fact that Bernd speaks german. I love that language, and this is even better-when someone I love speaks it!

Why complain? This cd will be in my heart forever!! I don't care much about the remixes of FY - they all sound quite the same, but the 'Thank You'-track was a huge surprise! I don't speak german very well, but I started to study it a few weeks ago in school just because of Alphaville... Even though I can't understand what Bernd is saying, it felt so good to hear his calm voice. I think it was really cool to hear Marian say only the last three words. He really made an 'edge' at the end with his deep voice. And Lassie come Home in the background - so great!!

Well...I will actually complain a bit, though... Why light a cigarette before speaking? Bernhard - do you want us young people to imitate you?

Well anyway...THANKS A LOT for this one...and everything else...

see me through - i'm a soulman...

Yeah, I had to listen to it again, too, I was confused what Bernd is doing in the beginning...

Well I did not want to complain that Marian says not so much. I only said it as a fact that I heard. I missed his voice, that's true but I was also very glad about Bernd's words.

A friend of mine thought that Bernhard took a bite of an
apple :)

i'm very greatfull to receive such a personal, original gift,
and must have cost a lot of effords...(e.g.smell the black
pencil...must have been a hard task) i can't get enough to
listen to the versions and can't wait to try mix my own !
All things together a real pleasure packet. But the most
(ear)striking part was to hear those personal words !
And somehow i could understand almost all at once...
(please don't ask for my old study results...)
Danke schön Bernhard Lloyd /m.g.

Yep...great gift!!! I don't know any other band that would've made this much effort to thank their faithful fans... Not even Howard Jones has made this much eventhough he's got his things going on too... You know, I should be thankful for this... I haven't even been "with" for that long, even though I loved "Forever Young" and "Sounds like a Melody" since I was a little kid, it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I really started to listen to them...
You know... I started studying German before I became an as dedicated fan for AV as I'm now, and I was really glad afterwards that I'd chosen German, and not for example French - after all, I don't know any good French bands (except for "Indochine"), but there are loads of good German bands out there, AV is just one (but superior) example of it...

But I gotta go now, have fun with your copies...
...und vielen Dank für euch, Alphaville!!!...

Hanoi Rocks !!! (as the child of many faces shall know a
Finnish Rockband. THE rock band to be more precise.
My other most favorite band besides AV(and now AP!)
since about 17 years... how i loved Mike Monroe ...
Indochine... was also a looong time ago that my France
boyfriend (at the age that even a kiss was no option... :(
Xavier... mentioned them... makes me curious...
Promising name also... "IndoChine"... Sounds like a melody
to me as you know where a good part of my heart lives
(...also in Germany thanks to my German ceepers of the
flame and torch of newborn hope and faith... you know
who you are, my Guardian Angels ! to know you... all
good people, thats the most important gift ! and all extra's
we may be even more gratefull for. to make it even more
subject mather; i'm hungry for evry "strange" greet,
evry "foreign sound" i can receive... it can be the inspiration
we need, the spark* wich can enlighten a not neccesairy
dark and lonely and separted time... We musn't bomb
strange things but cherrish, respect and enjoy all diversity.
See this world as a diamond with all kind of amazing
coloured facets ! We don't need to be all the same color
(especially not grey !) to respect and love and care for each
other. Then you lose quick intress, curiousity. a beautifull
unique identity , a litlle strange coloured bird between
(also beautiful, but only more special as a kind besides
other species) a group of grey-birds you don't shoot at,
ofcorse ! isn't it, ...i hope. you admire his strange sunburst
of colours. Give him the bread he needs to survive, excist,
and trust, so maybe you're so lucky it returns... and will
sing, play its special, unique, 'strange' tunes
for you once again...
Love&Care...!!! Leonie.
