Well, the first thing that I've noticed when
I entered this forum was a lack of DM . Lets face it : DM are number 1 ( With all the respect to the AMAZING Alphaville ). I'm addicted for many many years . Dave's vocal is simply supernatural (Marian's also). Martin's lyrics and melody are addicting - and they mature every album . When I hear Dave live on a 93 Devotional tour " Let me put you on a ship - on a long long trip - your lips close to my lips - ... let me show you the world in my eyes " my heart melts . I'm really looking forward for their next album around March - must be perfect . A must for every Pop-Gothic-Whatever fans (You guys). DM influenced many of the greatests bands . I'm sure that Marian learned a lot from those three . I'm in the mood to touch the fire . |

Come'on . We are both addicted to AV, my stereo plays AV all day long non-stop, I just said that MY no.1 band will always be
DM, I grew up on DM, I sprayed "DM" on walls, wrote it on the desks at school, but it my personal opinion, every one has his liberty in our jet set society :) |

I really liked Depeche Mode back in the eightees, but I´m not so fund of the way they have changed during the ninetees. I must say that they (as one of very few eightees bands) have managed to stay "big" after the eightees, so they must do something right in terms of changing to please the young generation which are the ones that buys the most records.
But for me - Alphaville are the best!!!!! |

Well, I can only say that in my opinion
the "86-98 DM" is way better than the "81-85 DM" . Touched by god . The music they make now - the "Ultra style" - is very mature, highest level available . They are very different from AV, and the only reason that many DM fans are also AV fans and vice versa (!) is that both bands are top quality . "The sweetest perfection" . :) I'm in the mood to touch the fire . |

I was a huge DM fan for many years. In my teenage years I had so many DM posters on my walls, that you couldn´t see the actual walls ! Now, I don´t like them that much, I mean their new music, and new for me is in the 90´s - I still love their work from 1981-90, but after Violater it went downhill, and Ultra is a depressing piece of work, except "it´s no good", which is actually good, but the 80´s were so much better - what a great time we had, and 6 concerts, first time in april 1986 - the Black Celebration Tour. I think that you prefer DM earlier songs
because it than was pure S-Pop, now it's not something which can be defined as a Synthpop . But it's great . When I bought it on 97 I didn't like Ultra except for It's No Good , after I played it many times I began to adore this creation and It's No Good wasn't even the most favorite! |
