That's really great news!! Welcome to the forum Martin!

An obvious question (I think) would be:

Which is your favourite Alphavillesong?

Hi Martin! Cool to see you here!

I'd like to ask which song have you found most difficult to arrange for live performances and why.

Oh, and one more (daft one): What do you suggest we do to give the UK fans a good kick up the arse and get them motivated??

Before you judge me, make sure you're perfect.

Hi everyone and "happy new year" !.
This is my first "official" contribution to a forum, since i joined Alphaville in 1995 !! wow thats quite a long time eh?.
One of my favourite live songs is "Inside out", and i also really enjoy playing "dance with me unplugged" because for me this is "real" music, with only piano and voice.
Actually, a lot of Alphaville songs sound great with a very simple arrangement, ie: just guitar or just piano and percussion, thats a good sign of the quality of the songs.
I would very much like to re-arrange a BIG song like "Big in japan", so that it sounds totally different, like a re-mix perhaps?.
The most complex songs to arrange for the live shows are the "epic" songs such as Euphoria/On the beach etc, but the most difficult ones are the big songs, because we like to change things to keep it interesting for us and hopefully you too!!, this does'nt always work though !.
We have toured and travelled to some very cool places, Russia,Peru the lebanon and Brasil stand out as some favourites, i would love to play in Japan of course, and also India, but i dont think that will happen with Alphaville, not enough percussion !!.As far as the new Album , i will be involved in some songs hopefully, and of course some keyboards/programming and hopefully more production this time, i am writing some music for this at the moment, so fingers crossed !.
Hope to see you all soon, best wishes for 2004, Martin x.

Iīm glad to have you here Martin, finally I got the Mac issue fixed.

I agree that the simple arrangements are really good, thatīs why among my best experiences with Alphaville live are the 2 unplugged sessions I have joined so far in Berlin 96 and 99, I really hope for something similar this year, all the songs performed with as few instruments as possible, so we can enjoy Marians vocal and your piano...
