Love Is Colder Than Death
It is high time to mention and discuss a band that is not only fantastic but exceptionally really unique:
It's Love Is Colder Than Death. Don't worry about the name or the fact that it's thousands of gothics worldwide who like the band. They started in 1990, coming from a rather punk-experimental-artist scene, doing pure electronics plus vocals by Susann Porter (Susan Heinrich then) and Ralf Donis, who later became the singer of the outstanding Techno-House-Metal-band Think About Mutation (http://www.tam-net.de/), it somehow still was a different thing: Not really synthpop, not really EBM - the rhythms were too unusual, the melodies, lines and harmonies too medieval, later Egyptian and Indian... etc.etc. There were remarkable success worldwide for a strictly independent formation, many but too less gigs, all in all five regular albums plus two samplers and a live record. Now it's time to continue the story: The new album "Shapes" is about to get released, there will be many gigs this year, festival gigs at Fade-In/Entremuralhas Festival, Leiria, Portugal, Wave-Gotik-Treffen Leipzig, Germany and more to come. The new song material will be as percussive and dancable as known, there will be orchestral stuff and more melodic works, beside the three singers Susan Porter, Ralf Jehnert and Sven Mertens (no, he's not a relative... [smile2]) there will be the mastermind Maik Hartung on keyboards, guitars and sitar plus three more musicians, some even claim one of them is similar to myself... [smile2] So have a listen and watch on the stuff at www.myspace.com/lictdcom and (hopefully soon renewed) www.lictd.com ! Раз, два, три - Это верно ты! |

Congrats, J!
Just listening to "Spells" and it sounds great. Fantastic voice of the singer that reminds me of a certain young MG. |

@ *a: Nice. Some certain forum member recently compared his voice to Alexander Veljanow...

Well... I don't listen to Deine Lakaien so I didn't get the idea to compare, but it's not so far away from his sound either ... *hides*

@J: That's why it would have been much better to compare him with David Gahan.
Ralf has a beautiful voice anyway. @Ana: [smile2] |
