What a very sad shock to read this news :"(. Martin you were so much to Alphaville, brilliant keyboardist and composer, as well as a very nice guy who always had time to greet us fans. Will never forget first meeting you in Salt Lake 2001 when "The Dream" was released into my world...
You will be missed, dear Martin. Love and hugs to you, Anja...

I was on vacation in Ljungdalen, SE when I got the news via Facebook. It was quite a shock, because I had literally just finished talking about AV with my friend and saying she should come with me to Paris in September.
I'm still a little bit in shock, and I wish his family and friends much strength and courage in these difficult times.

Trop triste, trop injuste, trop brutal.

I was in Kinlochleven with my parents and a friend who is also a fan.

[I mention Kinlochleven because I was waiting for the bus one time to my parents' place and its last stop is Kinlochleven (The 44 to Kinlochleven via Ballachulish and Glencoe) Two women walked by as the bus pulled up and remarked "The bus to the end of the world". Made me smile because it's just a village. A very remote one but surrounded by mountains it's dark.]

So anyway I got the message from Kaz that shocked the life out of me and it seemed fittingly sad that I was at The End of the World when I got it. I still can't believe it. If I feel end of the world-ish I can't imagine how those who were close to Martin must feel.

What to add... it was all disbelief and sadness to learn of Martin's passing, and even though I did not know him personally his kindness showed through in the interviews/lives, smiling and enjoying to be with the band. Our thoughts are with you Anja.

It's the same for me. Can't believe it's true [cry]

Whatever you do, never explain yourself : your friends don't need it, and your enemies won't believe you.
