A New "Jet Set" Extended Version
The So80s comp got me listening a lot to AV's classic extended remixes and I've been loving them all... except the Jellybean mixes of Jet Set.
The rest of Alphaville's early 12" versions sound so glorious and epic. But the JS 12" and dub... well, to my ears they just sound like dance club experiments circa 1985. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? Jet Set has such a great, exuberant energy to it, but I think Jellybean Benitz drained most of the life out of the song (even though there are some cool parts in the work he did). So, I decided to see if I could make one that I liked more. I ended up taking my favorite sections from the 12", the dub and the little-heard but awesome 7" version and weaving them together. Now it's got more of a traditional 80's 12" structure, and (hopefully) less monotonous filler. Here's the result if you're curious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBGN...ature=youtu.be Let's go to the moon, Jason

A New "Jet Set" Extended Version
i loved the jellybean mixes back then but I always hated the gap in the extended version. But I must say I really like this kinda restored non-existing 12" mix quite a lot.
