Der Name CODE 64 geht mir nicht mehr aus dem Kopf, komischerweise muss ich ständig an eine Band aus dem 90ern denken, leider komme ich nicht mehr auf den korrekten Namen, aber ich glaube es war noch auf dem legendären KK Records Label. Egal, laut Presseinfo gibt es die „Jetzigen“ seit 2003, Sie haben auch einen neuen Sänger und anlässlich ihres aktuellen Albums wird parallel die Masquerade Maxi zum digitalen Download angeboten.

Da mir die Rahmeninformationen überwiegend fehlen, konzentriere ich mich nur auf diese Maxi und was sie bietet, und da hat es mir schon die Sprache verschlagen, denn „Masquerade“ ist ein astreiner Synthpop Track mit einem tollen Gesang und einprägsamen Melodien, die einen sofort zum tanzen animieren, insofern man auf 80er, CAMOUFLAGE oder ELEGANT MACHINERY steht. Meine Begeisterung rührt daher, dass 90 Prozent der heutigen Synthpop-Bands in der Pfeife geraucht werden können, meisten sind es nur billige Kopien der großen Originale, aber bei CODE 64 ist wenigstens eine besondere, wieder erkennbare Stimme vorhanden, und die Komposition bietet alles für einen guten Popsong. Die Schweden erfinden das Rad nicht neu, präsentieren aber stattdessen eine Hochglanzfelge, die man stundenlang anstarren möchte und einen gewissen Futterneid hervorruft. Zugegebenermaßen, der normale Radio-Edit ist stellenweise schon etwas lahm, aber dies schafft der Audioschizofrenik Remix von KC KILLJOY wieder wett zu machen, und der hauseigene „The Purist & The Eurotrash“ Remix holzt auf tolle Art, der Name ist Programm, denn der analoge Bass schmatzt vor sich hin, dass man irgendwo zwischen EBM und den Anfangszeiten des Wave gefesselt ist, ein absolutes Ausnahmestück! Mit „Rebirth“ ist dazu noch ein Electro-Pop Song vorhanden, der durch den Gesang von Bjørn Marius Borg wieder Charme und Gänsehautfaktor versprüht. Den Genome-Remix von VIREZ kann man ein wenig unter Minimal und Techno einstufen, er rundet die Sache ganz nett ab.

Ergo freue ich mich, eine so tolle Veröffentlichung erhalten zu haben, die meinen Glauben an gute Bands aufrecht erhält, denn solche Perlen tauchen doch immer wieder auf und bereichern mein Schreiberling-Leben.

It's time for some news!

Hi everyone!

It's been a while, so it's time for a little update.
We have received a lot of great response on "Trialogue" and we thank you all for your kind words and continued support!

Winter is coming along quick and in the true spirit of x-mas, we have decided to announce our next single!
The track we have chosen is "Deviant" and it will be released first quarter 2011. More info on the remixes (and some surprises) is soon to come so stay tuned.

Code 64 won the award! [5th February 2011]

We are really proud to tell you all that we won the award for the "Synth of the Year" award at the "Manifestgalan" (Manifest awards) that took place last night.
