I'll say the 80's! why?? well there is no deeper meaning! I just love the synth sounds and the funny looking outfits from that period! :)

Surely this is a one horse race, its ludicrous to even consider any other era than the 80's,heres top 10 my reasons,in no particular order:

1.Tracks 1-10 of the Forever Young Album
2.The clothes were hilarious
3.Excluding the dreamscapes box set (which is for a large part 80s material in one form or another),they released more new material in the 80s than the other 2 options put together
3.Play She fades Away loud, and you wont need to read any more of my waffle
4.Who remembers jumping out of their skin the first time they were told that they could drive their car for afternoon in utopia, because they'd turned there stereo up so loud to hear the ticking at the beginning of the album.
5.The dance routine that went with the performances of red rose
6.Dance With Me Empire Remix (no explaination needed surely)
7.B-SIDES
8.They actually released a video!
9.VINYL was the preferred format for their singles and not these awful cd singles(OK theres been some in the other decades but mostly just promos)
10.Analogue synths.

I voted for 80's, too although I was born in 1983 and so I did not realize AV *lol*. But I try to collect everything from AV's early times. And I see those funny clothes and I like them :-) And of course, this VERY funny 'Red Rose' video.

A strange thing happened when I voted:
I have always loved the 80's (not just because of AV). My favourite ALBUM is FY... But when I thought about the music that AV produced, I clicked on "90's"!

It took ma a while to appreciate Prostitiute and - even more so - Salvation, but when I finally liked them, I LOVED those albums more than TBB or AIU.

Point taken about the singeles and videos, though. Hmm. And their image!
Oh dear - I think I like the 80's AND the 90's. And I can't wait to see what hapens in AV's future!

Gunnar

I voted the 2000 period....Why???? I found Alphaville again and they are so involved with the Alphavillian community now...Look!! We have The Greatest Bernhard on this forum and Mr Gold on the e-groups list....We have concerts with after shows that rock from them.....We have new songs once a month from them to quench our musical pallets and give our ears that ear candy of Euphoria...We are interactive with them now and more involved with each other now...Yes the 80s as in music was AWESOME...But I LOVE what's happening with Alphaville now and the Alphaville community...We are a big family...It is beautiful!!!!

Cruising in cocktails...
