Starman, I have to agree with you completely on the Forever Young album. I love all of their music, but all of my favorite songs they sing are mostly in the 80's. Like Forever Young, Dance With Me, Big In Japan, etc. I like Marian's unique voice back then. (Even though he sounds good now too!) Their older songs are my favorite! But I still love all of their songs!

Although I love the latest album I will always have a weak spot for the Forever Young album. Every album is worth listening. They are all different but great in every way.

I used to listen to FY on my 'walkman' (cassette) on the bus on the way home from high school in the mid 80's.
I bought AIU on vinyl as well and nearly wore it out. I like every song on this album as well. Very dreamy and upbeat. TBB was very jazzy and slow compared to their first 2 albums, but more mature and very creative. After that, their albums were not readily available in Canada and I lost touch with AV. I only rediscovered them last year (see the 'Born Again Alphaville Fan' thread for my story). Prostitute is a work of genius, and Salvation is an engineering marvel. I even have about 20 favourites from the dreamscapes album and at least a dozen favourites from crazyshow. Now a new album... |
