Which version of Alphaville songs do you prefer ?

Well, many remixes are really really good, Jerusalem is an example. But in the end, it´s the albumversion I falls in love with!

For me the remixes of the AV songs from the 80´s are the best. To mention a few SLAM, JS, DWM & Mysteries of love. But the newer remixes doesn´t do much for me. Especially the mixes on "Soul Messiah" are terrible!! But I voted 12" because of some cool remixes from the 80´s!!!!

Well, I always like maxi-versions and alternate versions. But I feel that the original version is always the best. The true version as the song was intented to be. So I voted for the album version.

Album versions are the pure and perfect songs for me.
All the rest are just beautiful additions.

tough to answer really, because they each have a life of their own, a unique sound that separates them from eachother...... but if I had to choose, I would say, like Poul, the early 12" mixes are what I like the best. I don't like to listen to the demos that much, although I find them interesting in the fact that its funny to see how far a song has come from its earliest beginning to the version that landed on the album.

***This life is expensive, but at least it comes with a free trip around the sun!***

I have already answered the albumversions but the thing is that it´s different from one song to another. Like Wishful thinking. I would say I like the liveversion of that song the best, but e.g. Flame, the albumversion is the absolute best.

i voted for demo versions, cause really think its interesting how to hear how the original song has became into what it is in the album, which makes me like the album versions too ofcourse. take Streetside Romeo's for an example; in the first demo it sounds more like a ballad of somekind, even if its more similar with a hardrock song on BTB...the second demos are actually almost like the final album version, eccept that there might be some differences in the sounds.

This was a tough one. But I guess I have to chose album version. The extended versions of the songs never can beat the original. Even if there has been some great 12"!
