I found this interesting:

Aufgrund technischer Gegebenheiten müssen wir auch öfter im Fernsehen oder bei anderen Gelegenheiten Halb- oder Vollplayback spielen, aber ich persönlich finde sowas schrecklich und mache das sehr ungern. Bei solchen Veranstaltungen ziehe ich immer schwarze Handschuhe an. So wissen dann zumindest die eingeschworenen Fans: Das hier ist jetzt nicht echt, der singt nicht richtig - alles nur Theater (lacht).

Because of technical factors, we often have to play full playback on TV or full or semi playback on other occasions but personally I find such a thing terrible and I don't like to do it. At such events I always wear black gloves. Then at least the die-hard fans know this is not real, he's not really singing - it's all theatre (laughs).
