So there was a big earthquake again. Fortunately, it didn't cause great harm. Everyone I care for is fine and I'm thankful the place where I live shows no signs of damage, and yet I've been crying non-stop all afternoon and I can't help it. I hadn't realised how much the earthquake in September affected me. I'll never get over it.

Delayed shock. I've felt it when something sets of crying from a previous event. Hugs Malila.
There were earthquakes in part of England today according to the news. Not strong ones but they aren't common in Britain. Even a mild tremor causes headlines in the UK. ....it was them what drove me to drink!" [drunk] Grandad, Only Fools and Horses (UK sitcom) |

Thank you, Clare. <3
That earthquake in September made me realise that I was not as prepared as I thought for a big event like this, and what scared me the most is that we, as population, weren't as well prepared as we thought for such a disaster. The fact that many places I frequented fell down or were broken had a big impact on my nerves. I think I will need help to move on. Strange days are coming. ;( I hope you'll be safe. In places where earthquakes don't happen often, buildings are more vulnerable. :( It looks like Mother Earth is itching everywhere. :-/ |

Stay safe, Malila. Our 'Big One' has been expected for around 5 years, so could be anytime. Having heard of the devastation in 1977 and knowing the corruption and lack of infrastructure here, I am dreading it.

Thank you, Kaz!
We're always expecting a 'big one' here too, and these last three came from places it was not expected, so that one is yet to come... I wouldn't be surprised if we had it soon, after so much movement lately. ;( I feel you. It's hard to know and actually assume that these events can happen any time. Take care and be ready. Here, we are finally understanding what civil protection agencies meant all these years asking us to stay alert, and we're learning to identify safest places, checking building structures, making drills and having a family plan for emergencies. I really hope Romania does have a good infrastructure that will resist anything that comes along. *big hug* |

Infrastructure and Romania in the same sentence can only be bad news ;-)

That's scary! Here, we had a devastating earthquake in 1985 that showed the weakness of building laws and infrastructure supervision. Many of us grew up expecting that people and authorities would be more vigilant and more honest in that field, but the last one showed us it wasn't necessarily so.
The house I'm living in now was built probably by the end of the 70s, so no earthquake regulations were in place back then. I constantly fear it will fall upon me like the House of Usher. I'm trying to find a way to reinforce the walls and have it checked by a specialist. Anyway. Let's just hope for the best. *big hug* |

Had an amazing gig yesterday at our Summer Fair. Full-sized stage and open-air too. I could get used to this ;-)
Smiley, a well-known pop star here in Romania, was special guest and did a 75 minute set. Because he had a gig later on in the day, he had to go on first and so became our opening / support act. We were better anyway...in my opinion... |
