@alphavile: where is the problem? the administrator of av.nu moved the new topic into the "old" one and we carry on there... there is no post lost...
double topics are not sooo welcomed anyway because the forum gets to big and messy... atb x |

We just have to face it, the magic with alphaville that they had on the forever young period died when Frank leaved the group. He was the one who made those beutiful melodies and could easely bring back alphaville to the charts with the other albums. He was also a intressting person, smart, good looking, a bit mystic.

I share Eddie's neutral judgement about the look of this guy. But there's no doubt about Frank's importance in the first Alphaville years.
By the way: Thanx for this topic!!! |

Ofcouse AV was great with Frank. And everybody have their own favorite AV-era. But I for one think that it´s great that they´ve evolved into what they are today. Maybe AV wouldn´t excist today if Mertens decided to stay... Because maybe they then would have stayed in a genre that eventually would have died out, and maybe they all would have been reaaly mad at eachother and Alphaville would have disapperad for good in 1986...
just a crazy theory.. :) |
