Welcome President Obama
I just want to say how I cried this morning at the breakfast table when I saw the news. Fantastic! Who knows what the people really voted him in for but I think it's a huge step forward. It was the topic of conversation all round school today, even between the kids! And it goes without saying that our black members of staff were feeling pretty proud today.

I sat up all night and saw the whole thing. The choice of Obama is an important milestone in American history, for more than one reason. Hopefully he will give America, and the world, the change it needs.

Hope so too though I don't think he can do it in 4 years. He can make a start though if he really means what he says. For once, I think America has made the right decision.

I wondered if anyone was going to mention this! Everyone I know is also very excited--walking around with smiles on their faces and drinking champagne this afternoon. In my county, almost 75% of people voted for Obama, with 83% voter turnout.
I was so worried that he wouldn't get elected, and now I have to worry for his personal safety. |

I'm glad for the USA too.
But when I hear his plans for Afghanistan - to send more military there and to "demand" Europe to do so - and keep the huge US energy requirements in mind, I don't feel that optimistic. Раз, два, три - Это верно ты! |

Right, J... I can't be as optimistic either.
Although he's perceived as the crystalization of a hope, it's rather hard that he will shake off American institutional decisions so easily. A matter of time, I suppose to see what he is able to do with the system. |

Well.....I'm just pleased that Sarah Palin didn't get anywhere near any important decisions! Because of Palin McClane stood absolutely no chance of winning the election. I find it hard to believe that Obama can solve the American (and world) economy problems....as a result of the election the American (and most of the world) shares dropped significantly in value. Let's hope it's just for a while and everything will get better soon. USA certainly have a lot of problems to deal with right now and their decisions will reflect on the rest of the world. The secondworst choice won the election this time so let's hope he can do a good job for USA and the world!!
