Should 'Fan Discographies, Music and Artwork' be visible for guests? - Alphaville Forum

We are thinking about moving the forum:

Fan Discographies, Music and Artwork

So it's visible for guests, should we do that ?

General Conversation will still be hidden.

I voted NO.

I think those topics must be visible just for forumers, not to all the people. The "fan" discographies is for "fans" and the artwork is made by "registered" fans and uploaded thinking on AV and the forumers. Or am I wrong? What do you think? Am I a little envious?

Although I don't have any artwork uploaded, I voted "no".
I'm just thinking that the people who have shared their work with us trust that it won't be left vulnerable to be misused...
However, their vote is much more important and they should be the ones to decide whether they want their postings to be reached by anyone.

I say No - I don't post my photo projects so I have no real say, but the possibility for misuse is there - Namely, stealing something...

I would say "yes," as it may bring some new people in to join us once they see what it's like here. If they like what they see, then welcome aboard!

I voted no. Sharing fan work with fans and friends on a forum is one thing. Putting it out in the general public domain is another.

I was going to say yes, since as said before it could provide one channel to get more people interested. But as also said it is too much to ask for everyone who uploads their artwork here to put them to public web. At least is should be artists choice to do so or not to do so. After all it's very nice to see great art made by members and it would be shame if they didn't want to share it anymore.
