Thank you Nicole, it confirms most of Marian's lyrics. The second verse is trickier (or more tricky), and it is the one I'm curious about -please don't read the previous attempts, not to be influenced... headphones required of course ;)

I wanted to figure out the first verse before I started working on the second verse. And you are right, the second verse is very confusing and you definitely need headphones to listen to it. Again, I listen to the second verse many of times, and yes, with headphones, and this is what I got. I don't know if some parts make sense, but this is what I'm hearing!
Since you're up with her it feels like a sip Because the taste is much to sweet, is much to sweet And the massive chaos of the city blues It's where a fallon is only a fear, it's only a flick And you dream of a world, you worry the call at it some but you leave its the resting place No doubt you're just for the diamond road in a neverlasting kiss, neverlasting! Here comes that Golden Feeling...etc. After I have typed up what I think Marian is singing, I decided to take a look at the previous attempts (Sorry, Jetset! I was curious!) and I was quite shocked that I was fairly close to what everyone else thought of the lyrics as well!

What's great with that song is that depending on the weather you never hear the same words [tonque]
I've tried to rework the second verse (partly): Since you're up with her it feels like a sip 'Cause the taste is much too sweet, is much too sweet And the mass indicator of the CD grooves <= VU meter ? It's where a thousand of times is a flick, it's only a flick |

It's definitely a great song! I know I'm hearing the same lyrics everytime I listen to it, but I just don't know what those lyrics are! I find it quite funny how Marian doesn't even remember parts to this song! anyways, that's a good interpretation to the song. To me, he's either singing, "CD grooves,"City grooves," or what I thought, "City Blues." The most tricky part in this song to me is the second verse, line 4. I believe he's saying, "It's where a Fallon is only a fear, it's only a flick." I keep hearing the word, Fallon, but wasn't sure if it was an actual word, so I looked it up, and it is. A Fallon is another word to describe a hot girl. So in a way, this does make sense with this song. I know we will never know the actual lyrics, if we didn't guess them already, but we can always pretend it's what we have interpreted!

I am uncertain for the third line but I'm 100% sure the last word begins with a "g" (I actually hear "grews" but that doesn't make sense. Would be funny to submit our attempts to Marian, he'd giggle - or be intrigued

I think that would be a great idea. I would love to know what Marian's reaction would be, reading our attempts! Who knows, maybe after reading our attempts, he may remember what the missing lyrics were! I also will be listening to this song tonight to see if I maybe start hearing other lyrics!

There are parts I still can't work out, even as a native speaker.
The streets are opened wide for a brandnew adventure The asphalt flashes in the light And the blackleathered knights are crawling out of their basements And handing the tickets for the night Won't you stay for a while 'coz there's no chance to hide Lay your money right down for the bill You've been freed, You're alive, there's no time for regrets (you're alive) Push the door (you're alive) now go in for the kill, for the kill... Since you're up with HIM, it feels like a sin 'cause the taste is much too sweet, it's much too sweet And the MASSIVE DECAY of the city blues It's where A ???, it's only a ??? (def not FLING) ???, you will hear the call AND ITS TIME THAT YOU LEAVE HIS CARESS BUT NOW YOU'RE JUST ??? In an everlasting kiss, everlasting kiss |

Here's what I hear in the part prior to the "place is so crowded" verse:
You bring her alive, there's no time for regrets You're alive, push the door, you're alive Heading right for the kill, right for the kill I'm 100% positive he is saying "You bring her alive" The very last part, "Heading right for the kill" is likely not right! Expanding upon what humanracer heard: Since you're up with him, it feels like a sin 'cause the taste is much too sweet, it's much too sweet And the massive decay of the city blues It's where they follow him, there's only a fling, it's only a fling (I can hear that word. It fits the song's tone) ???, you will hear the call and it's time that you leave his caress But now you're just gonna die on the road In an everlasting kiss, everlasting... I can't hear the question marked part... I truly cannot hear what he might be saying. I hear "blame" and "wall" but that's it!

Yeah, their music has always had very deep and well-thought lyrics. Lots of them, in a way, are just about impossible to accurately interpret. A few, however, are fairly easy to understand (Whales comes to mind)
