Prostitute Vinyl
Why was the album Prostitute not released on Vinyl. The formats for release is Cassette and CD only
![]() The gap between Prostitute goes right up to Catching Rays, which is available on Vinyl. The Gap includes Prostitute, Salvation, Dreamscapes, Stark Naked An Absolutely Live, Dreamscapes 9, Crazy Show and Crazy Show Excerpts. My personal guess is in 1994 was the vinyl very out and uncool. The CD was the thing. There are many album from mid 90's that was only released on CD.
Cassettes was for cars or walkmans. I think Prostitute is also too long for a regular LP. It has to be released as 2LP for the best sound. Only my guess. |

Dire Straits released a double album from Brothers in Arms. The new Radiohead release of OK Computer is a triple lp. TOOL Lateralus released as a double lp. There are many more to mention, Hardin, it's a pity that the Alphaville albums were not released as vinyl. Dreamscapes would have been wonderful as a box set I'm gliding in the distance and watch the world go by An orbit full of questions, a perforated sky |

Yes, that's a pity of course.
But I think Dire Straits, Tool and Radiohead has a bigger fanbase. At least at the mid 90s. The clubmusic was still running 12" vinyl. Fools was released on vinyl though. Dreamscapes was a very special release for hardcore fans, and on vinyl would be very cool, but it would be for a limited numbers of costumers and comes with a big cost and risks. Vinyl became the physical choice when streaming and digital releases took over the CD. Again only my personal guess. |

I agree, but collectors now are looking for vinyl. 21years is a long wait from BB to CYOG. Wishful Thing had a 12" release in 1997, Love Will Find A Way was another one in 2018
