You should know them. They are amongst the pioneers of electronic music. Klaus Schulze was a member in the early days.

I don't have anything by them except for the Legend soundtrack - I really really like it though!

Ive never heard the Legend soundtrack. Ive only seen the european version. But now that Legend is released as DVD I have a chance to finally see (and hear) the dark version, with TD.
To me, the best TD is the virgin years. The stuff the made in the 90 is pretty boring. Edited by - davidhorizon on 23 Feb 2001 03:23:00 |

I've heard some of the stuff they did in the early 90's, and yes it's quite boring, but some of the stuff from the late 90's is good! very trance like and great sounds. (but I agree, the Virgin years is the best!!

Hmmm... They have made over 50 albums so that's a good question! I think everybody has their own favourite TD track. (I can't remember the name of my favourite, But it's really great! there are some choirs on it made with some analouge synthesizers, and it sounds so "lovely"?? David has the LP)

Well TD is basically an instrumental band, playing pure instrumental melodies. So its not really a question of which song is the best, but more which album is the best. Each album is a whole in it self, and the tracks often lasts 15-20 minutes.
I dont know which album is the best, because I've only heard a few of them. And as SPAWN mentioned, they have released more than 50 albums. I think the most interesting work is from their "virgin years" period. But also some of their early soundtrack are good. Basically the stuff the made, back where analog synths ruled the earth. |
