Heaven 17 - Alphaville Forum

We are going to see Heaven 17 on Tuesday night in London. They are a fantastic band and well worth seeing live.

We saw them a few years ago and their live set was very good and they looked as though they were having a great time and enjoying themselves.

The live show has lots of bass synths (Justus would like them!) and they usually start with "We don't need this fascist groove thang" and last time their encore was "20th Century Boy" (Marc Bolan!).

They are mostly known for "Temptation" but other good tracks are "We live so fast", "Come live with me", "Let me go", "Crushed by the wheels of industry", "Penthouse and Pavement".

I was really into them until they went a bit Jazz Funk but their latest material is back to good old synth stuff. They have got a new CD out next week.

"Come live with me" is definately my favorite, nice to hear they are still going strong.

Strange, I have bought a cd of them a while ago on a flea market.

Was looking in the cd's they sold here and someone told me 'take that one from Heaven 17, you will like it'.

And yes, nice music they have.

Btw, the cd I had bought was 'Penthouse and Pavement'.

Mine too, their greatest tune ever.
A few days ago I found their newer material, and I was

Thanks for the clips of H17 Wii, they sound better than ever. They presented a show on UK radio last week and mentioned they will be touring Europe this year and will play the whole of 'Penthouse and Pavement' live. After watching this I'm tempted to get some tickets.

A funky direction but I like it, especially since How Men Are is one of my favourite albums. Hopefully the new album will sound as good as these two tracks.
