Live at the Berlin Philharmonie
On June 12, 2023, the German synth-pop band Alphaville, on the occasion of their 40th anniversary, played their greatest hits in the Berlin Philharmonie in a new symphonic guise together with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg.
Alphaville is considered one of the most successful German synth-pop bands and wrote music history, especially in the 80s, with anthems such as "Big in Japan", "Sounds Like a Melody" or "Forever Young".
Now the band around frontman Marian Gold looks back on 40 years of band history and takes this as an opportunity to bring their greatest hits to the stage in new, spectacular orchestral versions together with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg.
All the pieces have become clearer at heart through the editing, have been exposed, unleashed, liberated, says Marian Gold. The concert in the Berlin Philharmonie is considered one of the highlights of their anniversary tour. Alphaville's greatest hits in full Philharmonic power.
