How did Marian Gold get in the shape he's in now ?
 

In the 80's, he was as fit as anybody could get, but over the years he somehow gained weight. How did this happen to him? I remember reading he had a major smoking problem and he blew his voice voice while recording an album and he had to fight the addiction so he picked hard candies. But then he gained weight and now is the way he is. Is this true? Or did he just simply get old?

Well he gained weight after eating the junk food due to laying off smoking back in 1986 or 1987, but lost it. ( I read an article on that) Over the years he did gain weight, probably due to age. I don't know if its me but it seems like he recently lost some weight.

He got old, just like the rest of us. He looks good for his age though. Looks better in the flesh than on photos which, as we all know, can often be unflattering.

I agree. I think he looks great for his age. Looking at him, I wouldn't think he's 59.

Definitely! He actually looks only about in his 30's, but I think you're right since he seems to be a bit thinner than he was in 2010 (check out the big in japan 2010 istanbul video)

I'm sorry, but I think he looks like that, because he's drinking alot. It's not that he looks that old, but he is certainly not in good shape.

I have to agree with Davidhorizon. I think Marian parties a lot, and likes to have a good time, which often comes with good food and good drink (which we all love, and which is why I had to go on a diet/detox when my family left to go back to Cali LOL)

I still thinks he looks good, though, for his age. There are other musicians out there who look like they're near death, sometimes!

And as long as he keeps the music coming, it doesn't really matter what he looks like. Talent is what matters, not appearance
