Official Weather Topic

The weather here in Copenhagen is terrible - the whole city looks like a snowball, and I could hardly open the frontdoor this morning to get out, and my bike surely had problems going to work, but I hate buses, so I made it (almost) in time this morning.

Alien 06 Jan 2003 19:52

it's -25C here right now and I'm pretty sure it will fall down more within next hours. snow is everywhere. huge snow-drifts. traffic-jams on the roads because of that snow.

Jonatan 06 Jan 2003 20:18

-13C here right now. A lot of snow.

Alien 06 Jan 2003 20:23

someone somewhere said that half of Europe is under the water and the other half is under the snow...

poul e 06 Jan 2003 20:25

We only have about 5 cm of snow here, but itīs very cold...somewhere between -15 and -20C. Very unusual in Denmark!

Clare 06 Jan 2003 21:47

Just as grey here as it ever is. Not been out for a few days as I have a cold AGAIN!!

Adiville 06 Jan 2003 22:36

What can i say ?
Its suppose to be winter now but the skies have been clear in the last few days and its not too cold.
But 2 weeks ago we've had some bad storms....
Not snow of course :-)))

Krapplund 07 Jan 2003 04:50

I just say: Cold

hardin 07 Jan 2003 11:20

I haven't been outside the house since I became sick, but I can say it's too cold to be funny.

Alien 07 Jan 2003 22:14

it's -27C right now... and it's getting colder.... but I haven't been outside since 5th (that was pretty warm day)...

davidhorizon 07 Jan 2003 23:03

I generally dislike winther. I hate the cold and the dark. It's so depressing. I wish I was living in Australia or some other country, where is never gets this cold.

Avil 07 Jan 2003 23:16

Winter...wr got like -20 here...
I donīt complain that much, think itīs kinda nice :)

Alien 07 Jan 2003 23:35

winter can be nice if it's warm in your flat... but when cold winds blow from every window... when walls are cold as ice... it's hard to bear.

though I really like winter and snow.

hardin 08 Jan 2003 00:51

you like the cold when it's warm
you like the warm when it's cold

Krapplund 08 Jan 2003 13:42

Still cold!

Avil 08 Jan 2003 15:59

Itīs not too bad here...I think its nice that itīs cold in the winter and hot in the summer...even though I donīt always say that.better now.

Alien 08 Jan 2003 21:58

phew... they promised there won't be that cold tomorrow... only -13C. that's good because I have to go out tomorrow

poul e 09 Jan 2003 07:52

@Alien: Same here! Today it should be close to 0C!!!

Clare 09 Jan 2003 11:39

Found something in the paper today,

"The heaviest snowfall for 12 years hit London yesterday. Arctic conditions disrupted roads and railways across the rest of Britain."

And how bad were these "Arctic" conditions I wondered?

6 inches of snow in Essex, 2 inches of snow in London, 4 inches in Kent. This leads to railway lines closed, signal failures etc etc etc.

I'd laugh if it weren't so bloody stupid![boggled][laugh][laugh]

Alien 09 Jan 2003 21:35

it was -17C in the morning, -10C in the afternoon and -5C in the evening. But it's promised that temperature will fall again soon. I just hope it won't happen tomorrow.

mAjor 10 Jan 2003 22:40

...and here I am complaining about the heat (a nice +28C today)............

Alien 10 Jan 2003 22:51

you know I'm tired. temperature goes up and down...

*sings*
up and down, dawn and up
could be the name of the game

it was -5C in the morning and during the day... but now it's -23C

How long? how long, i'm asking, will it last?

though +28C is too hot..

Alien 16 Jan 2003 21:41

woo hoo! it's so nice here today! +3C... warm and wonderful... it's been so long since it was that warm here last time!
I'd like to have temperatures from +5C to -5C in winter... and maybe a couple of days with -10C (that would be an awful frost!) WHY is can't be like that?????

haha... if temperature will fall back to "minus" within next days we'll have some fun called "surviving on ice" and "trying not to fall down"

Clare 31 Jan 2003 09:56

It snowed here yesterday!!!! [cold]

I've lived in Peterborough for almost 4 years and not seen proper snow in all that time. I had to go shopping, and when I realised that the snow was falling, I was so happy! The grey estate where I live was white and glittering.

*Getting over funny moment, I promise* [crazy]

Kaz 31 Jan 2003 11:45

Makes me titter somewhat...

They complain about snow and ice - it's winter for god's sakes! And still the British aren't prepared for it!

By the way, it's fine, dry and clear here. Wish I were down south or on the east coast...

davidhorizon 31 Jan 2003 12:52

It's frezing cold here in Denmark. That really sucks, because I'm working outside All day!

Clare 31 Jan 2003 13:07

Every time in Britain that the temperature is below freezing and there's a little bit of snow, everything stops! It really is ridiculous. As if trains really can't cope. Everywhere else copes!

Much as I love snow, I would not like to be outside all day. Best of luck David!

Alien 31 Jan 2003 20:52

it's 0 here right now. but they said that the thaw is over... and temperature's gonna fall down soon.

Clare 01 Feb 2003 10:39

The snow has almost gone here. When I see snow it takes me back to my childhood, living in a small village and hoping that the snow would continue and the school bus wouldn't get through. I always loved snow!

Alien 01 Feb 2003 20:07

they were right. it's -17C and it's getting colder! [shake]

Alien 08 Mar 2003 23:20

hehe... I love the weather here now. nights -17C, days +2C

poul e 28 Apr 2003 13:26

I noticed some of you were talking about the weather so I dug up this topic.

Here in Denmark it usually rains a lot and we rarely see the sun. But the past 2 or 3 months we have hardly had any rain at all. We got a bit of snow about a month and a half ago, but rain...no. Itīs really great to see the sun as much as Iīve done so far this spring. I really hope it continues!!!

Agnes 28 Apr 2003 13:28

Keep it up, Poul! Over here in Hungary the weather is very changeable and as my health is a bit irresolute, it doesn't always make me feel good... It was raining in the past few days over here, now it is very sunny but the wind from Northwest blows strong... Let the sunshine in... [shake]

Kaz 28 Apr 2003 13:34

@ Poul e

Thanx! Now I can preoccupy myself in that great British pasttime - talking about the weather!

It's raining again...To be honest, I live in an area in England where we have more rain than anythnig else. That's why we have lakes. In fact, about 45 minutes away from me is the wettest place in England, the Borrowdale Valley.

I think today's weather is just making sure we keep the lakes topped up for the tourists...

slam 28 Apr 2003 20:18

In Finland it has also been raining today all day long and I'm very happy about that.
There will never be a real spring without actually a few rainy days in a row.
Hmmmm - just cool rain.

@Agnes, Kaz: I like girls very much when they are wet, by the way...

Alien 28 Apr 2003 21:20

It was snowing from time to time in St.Petersburg. And now it's raining here.

Alien 05 May 2003 09:23

WHERE IS SPRING???

there were only 2 warm days here! and now it's cold and it rains. and no heating... brrrrrr... [shake] and they promise SNOW!!!!! [bigeyes]
so I'm asking where is spring? where should I go to find spring?

Kaz 05 May 2003 09:42

Berlin

FallenAngel 05 May 2003 09:49

Oh Yes... Summer In Berlin! [glasses][approve]

Alien 05 May 2003 09:51

I doubt there will be summer this year at all. Seems winter just turned into autumn and then will be winter again...
