Erasure/Andy Bell

Another band I really liked back in the 80´s were Erasure. I´m not so fund of the music they make now though.

But songs like these are great:
Oh L´Amour
Sometimes
Hideaway
Who needs love like that
March on down the line
Knockin on your door
etc.

I don't know why people like'm so much,
they are not that good, their synth is
to ... joyful and soft ... for me.
I'm happy that Vince Clarke left DM,
It pushed them toward the right way and
made what they are, without his musical
influence and with new lyrics by M.Gore .
*** Don't get me wrong, Erasure have great songs ( Yazoo also ) .

Our opinion is directly the opposite here. I liked DM best when Vince Clarke was a member. The best DM song is in my opinion "Just can´t get enough". From then on they have just gotten worse. But that´s just my opinion. I know a lot of you don´t agree with me and that´s just the way it should be. It would be so boring if we all agreed on everything.

And to me Andy Bell is a much better singer than Dave Gahan but then again it´s just me.

I used to love Erasure in the 80s, but I grew tired of them, and from what I´ve heard in the 90s, I´m not impressed.

I like Erausre, but unlike AV who have changed over the years, and experienced with different music genres, Erasure seems to have been stuck in the same popgenre since day one.

David - I agree 100% with that statement - the haven´t evolved at all, but I still think they were better when they started than now !

I agree with you David and Willy. Erasure are not nearly as good as they were in the 80´s. They have tried to evolve but it hasn´t worked. The songs they make now are no "Oh L´Amour" or "Sometimes". They just lack something.

I have all Erasure records from the 80´s and the beginning of the 90´s but I have stopped buying them as it´s a waste of money.
