Do you go through all the cookies and decide which one to delete one by one? The only way to be sure, is to delete everything inside these folders, there are tons of temporary internet files also that can create errors like these, only index.bat and stuff like that canīt be deleted.

I have a curiosity: if it is a problem within the pc, why does the counter work alright when you log in each time?

I have also given up on deleting cookies. I've deleted them twice in the positions you mention Willy, but it's still the same. But I don't care too much about it as I rarely use "Active topics" anyway...
