Buna, Andrei! Wanna help me get the new Alphaville single on the Romanian radio stations? My Romanian language skills suck, so I really need help.

Before you judge me, make sure you're perfect.

Well you cannot please everyone. Some criticised CROG for being too poppy and wanted something less commercial. We all have different ideas about AV should sound.

I like Sexyland because it sounds very 80s. I guess this is the reason why most hate it. I am not a huge fan of the subject matter however. A man admiring a porn poster as a work of art is a little corny if you ask me.

House of Ghosts reminds me a little of Call Me.

I haven't heard Beyond yet as I still have to finish the album from what I understand it's an acoustic song with no synths.

I only bought the digital version so don't have a booklet. Does anyone have a breakdown of who wrote each track?

Which is what makes it funny how much people seem to like "Beyond The Laughing Sky" (including me—it and Handful Of Darkness are my favorites so far). It feels like a distinctly different track for AV.

My overall thought on the album is why I'm not sure I'd call it my favorite, there's a lot I like, and taken as a whole, it feels more balanced across all of the band's members. Although, I say this not being nearly as well versed as some of you in understanding AV's song-writing process or how collaborative Marian is. Put another way, it feels more like a full-band album rather than a songwriter-keyboardist album.

Adding Sexyland, Rendezvoyeur and Beyond to my previous favourites. This is quickly becoming a favourite. Alphaville CDs often take a while to grow on me as I have to reset my expectations each time. I love the fact that each one's so different but it doesn't always make them easy to enjoy on first listening but I love this one.

Wow thanks for link. I prefer this version of Mafia Island, sounds clearer on the vocal and fresh (in the sense of not too overproduced). Heartbreak MMXII is slow and uninteresting to hear, perhaps because I already know the funkier, upbeat version of the album, which is better IMHO. While for Handful of Darkness and Around the Universe MMXIV, I hardly hear noticeable differences from the album version, well they're all just snippets. But any other version of AV songs is welcomed to my ears--hope to have demos, versions, remixes of the album released in another DS.

Mafia Island is better on the bonus tracks but I also prefer this version of Heartbreak city. Less funky and more AV sound to me. I really hope we can buy a download somewhere. Why not a special edition CD with those tracks? Missed opportunity....
